How to Install SSIPTV on Amazon Firestick
Works on every Firestick from Fire TV Stick 2 (2016) onward — including 4K Max, Fire TV Cube, and the latest Fire TV Omni QLED series.
Why SSIPTV on Firestick?
The Firestick is the single most popular streaming device for IPTV in North America — it's cheap ($39 for the standard Stick, $59 for the 4K Max), plugs into any HDMI port, and sideloads apps without rooting. The SSIPTV Android app is built specifically for Fire OS, which means the remote's directional pad, back button, and voice search all work natively. No Bluetooth keyboard required, no mouse toggle, no fiddling. You install once, enter your prepay code, and the interface is identical to what you'd see on a Shield or Mi Box.
Which Firestick Models Work?
- Fire TV Stick Lite — works, but 720p output only. Fine for a bedroom TV.
- Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen, 2021) — 1080p, the sweet spot for budget buyers.
- Fire TV Stick 4K (2023) — full 4K HDR, our recommendation for a main living-room TV.
- Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) — fastest processor, best for zipping through the 24,000+ channel list.
- Fire TV Cube — hands-free with Alexa. Same install process.
- Fire TV Omni QLED — built into the TV itself. Same steps apply.
If your Firestick is from 2016 or earlier (the 1st-gen with the non-4K rectangular body), it may struggle with HD streams. Anything 2018 or later is fine.
What You Need
- A Firestick or Fire TV device on the Amazon home screen.
- An SSIPTV subscription or free trial — sign up at /free-trial if you haven't already.
- About 5 minutes.
Step 1 — Enable Unknown Apps
Fire TV blocks installs from outside the Amazon store by default. Turn this off only for the Downloader app:
- From the Fire TV home, go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps.
- Find Downloader in the list and toggle it to ON.
- If Downloader isn't in the list yet, you'll add it in Step 2, then come back here.
Step 2 — Install Downloader
- From the Fire TV home screen, hit the Search icon (magnifying glass, top-left).
- Type Downloader and install the free app by AFTVnews (orange icon).
- Open Downloader. On first launch, allow it to access media if prompted.
Step 3 — Enter Your aftv.news Code
Every SSIPTV order email includes a unique 7-digit code. Paste it into Downloader:
- In Downloader, click the URL field at the top.
- Enter your 7-digit SSIPTV code and press Go.
- Downloader fetches the SSIPTV APK (about 25 MB) — this takes 10–30 seconds.
- When prompted, click Install.
- When install finishes, click Open.
Step 4 — Enter Your Prepay Code
The SSIPTV app will ask for your prepay code on first launch. It's in the same welcome email as the aftv.news code — copy-paste it in and tap Activate.
Step 5 — Start Watching
The main screen loads with live TV, sports, movies, and series tabs. Go to Live TV and pick a channel — first launch takes 3–5 seconds to buffer, then every channel change should be under 2 seconds. Navigate with the Firestick remote's directional ring: up/down to browse channel categories (Sports, News, Movies, Entertainment, International, Kids), left/right to scroll through channels within a category. Press the center button to select. The menu button takes you back to the category list. The back button exits the current view. The home button suspends the app — reopening it picks up exactly where you left off.
If you don't see any channels after first launch, go to Settings → Refresh Playlist inside the app. This forces a re-download of your M3U playlist and usually resolves blank screens within 30 seconds.
Troubleshooting
"The file contains a virus" error
Harmless — that's Fire OS's default scan reacting to a sideloaded APK. Click Install anyway or re-open Settings → Developer Options and make sure Downloader is allowed.
App installs but won't activate
Paste the prepay code without any spaces. If you still see "Invalid code", email help@catchontv1.email — we'll verify and resend a fresh code within minutes.
Buffering on 4K streams
Your Firestick is probably on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Go to Settings → Network and switch to a 5 GHz band. Or — cleanest fix — plug a USB Ethernet adapter into your Firestick. Instant improvement.
App disappeared after a Fire TV update
Amazon sometimes wipes sideloaded apps during OS updates. Just repeat Step 3 — the APK reinstalls in under a minute.
Fire TV Cube & Fire TV Omni
Same exact process. Fire TV Cube's Alexa voice control works with SSIPTV too — say "Alexa, open SSIPTV" after install.
Summary
- Enable Downloader in Developer Options.
- Install Downloader from the Amazon store.
- Enter the aftv.news code from your SSIPTV email.
- Install the APK, open SSIPTV, paste your prepay code.
- Stream.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to jailbreak my Firestick? No. Enabling "Install unknown apps" for Downloader is a built-in Fire OS setting — it doesn't root, jailbreak, or void any warranty.
Will SSIPTV auto-update on my Firestick? No — sideloaded apps don't auto-update through the Amazon store. When we release a new version, we'll email you a fresh Downloader code. The old version keeps working until you update.
Can I use SSIPTV on two Firesticks with one account? Yes, as long as your plan allows multiple simultaneous connections. The 1-connection plan streams on one device at a time; the 2-connection plan covers two Firesticks (or a Firestick + a phone).
